Which Smartphone Blogging Apps Do You Use?

Blogging is one of those jobs that you can do almost anywhere, especially if you have a smartphone and a data signal or WIFI. That’s where blogging apps come into play.

Today’s Thursday Q&A is “Which smartphone blogging apps do you use?” It’s a good question. I will discuss which blogging apps I use to manage my blog remotely and how I use them.

First, I guess I should say that I use a Samsung Galaxy S8 for my business. I love my phone, and no, I am not an affiliate. I chose this phone because of the price, the camera, a fast processor, and its RAM. Since I frequently multitask, it is nice to have a phone that can keep up with my business.

And before anyone says anything, I don’t hate the iPhone. I was actually considering the iPhone 7 plus when it came time to upgrade, but the Samsung phone was more affordable and had several features that I really love. I am still open to buying an Apple product in the future. The time and the price just weren’t right for me at the time.

With that being said, here are the blogging apps that I use for managing my blog on a regular basis.

WordPress

The WordPress app is a limited version of WordPress that works great for quick edits and managing my blog. I use it to make changes and update posts, as needed. The WordPress app also allows me to manage multiple blogs and approve and reply to comments and feedback quick and easy.

Pinterest

Pinterest is, by far, my most used app on my smartphone. I use it to manage my Pinterest account, schedule to BoardBooster, pin to group boards, and plan my posts. It’s really amazing how versatile this app is for blogging.

Something I wish I did have on my phone is the Tailwind app. It is not yet available for Android, but I will download it as soon as it is available and try it out. If you own an iPhone, be sure to check out the iPhone app ASAP.

Google Analytics

The Google Analytics app is a convenient version of the desktop version. I love the convenience of this blogging app. I often use it to check my traffic and monitor the effectiveness of my content and marketing.

Something I will note is that the analytics data isn’t located in the same section on the app as it is on the desktop version. Instead of finding pageviews under Audience > Overview, it is located under Acquisition > Overview. Landing Pages are also located differently, under the Behavior tab on the app.

It takes some getting used to, but this app is great for keeping track of my blog’s performance on the go.

Social Media – Facebook Pages Manager, Twitter, Instagram, and Hootsuite

Like everyone, I use my social media apps to market, share, promote my posts, and communicate with my audience. I use the Facebook Pages Manager, Twitter, and Instagram regularly. Occasionally, I use the Hootsuite app from my smartphone if I need to make a quick announcement across all of my platforms.

Graphics – Canva, Pixlr

In general, I use my laptop for my blog graphics, but I do use a couple graphics apps on my smartphone to create graphics for sharing on my social media.

Canva’s app is much more limited than the desktop version, which I absolutely love (once again, I’m not an affiliate). I usually just use the smartphone app it to create graphics with text for Instagram.

Pixlr is a more versatile photo editor. I can add text, create collages, edit, adjust, add filters, and a number of other things from this awesome app. Whether you are posting to social media or your blog, you should give this app a try.

Google Chrome

For web search and the ability to easily work from one device to the next, I use Google Chrome. Chrome makes things so much more convenient for me. I love to bookmark pages and blog posts on my mobile browser then view them later from my laptop.

Google Chrome also provides easy access to Google docs, has an add-on for Tailwind, and makes my life easier by saving my passwords.

Microsoft Word

I love being able to write quickly on my smartphone while I’m waiting or have some downtime. Once I am back to my computer, I just open my Word doc from my cloud storage from Microsoft and I’m good to go. Once again, it is convenience for me.

The real reason I splurge for Microsoft Office, as opposed to a free program, is for Microsoft Publisher, which is only available for desktop. It is a much less expensive alternative to Adobe InDesign. This program allows me to create beautiful PDFs with more control than Canva currently offers. Since MS Word comes in the package, I might as well make use of it.

Leetags

I hate trying to come up with hashtags for my Instagram posts. On my smartphone, I use Leetags, which suggests popular hashtags that I would have never thought of on my own. All you have to do is type in one hashtag and it suggests others that I can copy and paste right into my Instagram posts.

Each time I use this app, I notice that I receive more traffic than whenI don’t. It has helped me grow my Instagram account much faster than before I started using it.

PayPal

As an online entrepreneur, I need a safe and secure way to create invoices and get paid online. PayPal is my go-to source for doing this. If I have a client, I can simply send that client an invoice for the services I perform. Typically, I ask for half up-front and the remaining upon completing the work unless it is an older client that I know well.

PayPal stores my invoices and I can print them off or review them for my taxes. This is convenient when you are dealing with multiple streams of income from freelance services.

I also pay for my monthly business subscriptions and services using my PayPal business account. Needless to say, this is an app I use fairly frequently.

Kindle and Scribd

I believe strongly in continuing to learn an grow. That means that I often read ebooks and listen to audiobooks about blogging. When I do this, I use either the Kindle app or Scribd to purchase and read ebooks and audiobooks.

Blogging is always changing. This means that there are always new topics to discover and new books being published that can make a huge difference in how I run my business.  Kindle and Scribd make learning a breeze.

  1. When I initially commented I clicked the “Notify me when new comments are added” checkbox and now each time
a comment is added I get three e-mails with the same comment.
Is there any way you can remove me from that service?
    Bless you!

  2. Hmm it seems like your site ate my first comment (it was extremely long) so I guess I’ll just sum it up what I had written and say, I’m thoroughly enjoying your blog. I as well am an aspiring blog writer but I’m still new to the whole thing. Do you have any helpful hints for inexperienced blog writers? I’d certainly appreciate it.

  3. I have been surfing online greater than three hours today, but I by no means found any fascinating article like yours. It is lovely worth enough for me. In my opinion, if all website owners and bloggers made just right content material as you probably did, the web will probably be much more helpful than ever before.
