start a blog

If you have been following me on my lifestyle blog, One Day to Tomorrow, you know my work. And I want to thank you for checking out my professional freelance writing website and blog! I really appreciate it. If you are new to my work, welcome.

This post is just a quick welcome and introduction for my readers. I will be posting some of my writing samples on this website, but I don’t want you to think that is all this website is about.

Writing and Blogging

One of the things I have encountered in my blogging experience is people asking; How do I start a blog? How do I start a website? And how do you make money writing online? I want to answer those questions and help others to be able to start their own blogs.

Since I write about life matters on One Day to Tomorrow, I knew I would be starting another website to address this. Fortunately, my current web hosting through HostGator covers adding an additional website at no additional cost. I just had to pay to register my domain and for domain privacy.

If you don’t know what that means, that’s okay. I plan to cover those in future posts.

Web Hosting

If you want to write professionally, you will need your own domain and web hosting. You will need plug-ins and other services that you can’t use with free blog hosting services. The good news is, this doesn’t have to cost and arm and a leg. I pay under $12 per month for my web hosting services through HostGator and have multiple websites.

If you want to take this opportunity sign up for a HostGator account, you can signup using the form below. Disclosure: This banner is an affiliate link. That means that if you click the banner to sign up, I will earn a small commission from HostGator. It won’t cost you anything! In fact, by using the link, you will save 20 percent off of your service.

I use HostGator for my websites and have had an awesome experience. They have been around a long time and there is a reason for that!

Another reason I went with HostGator is because they offer great rates for web hosting. The good news is, if you don’t have a ton of start-up funds available, you can pay monthly for their services instead of annually. I would still be waiting to start if I had chosen to sign-up with another service.

You Are Ready!

If you already have web hosting services and a domain, or you sign up through the link above, you are ready to get this party started! I will be creating a series of  posts in the coming weeks to help you begin. The next one is How to Install WordPress and Avoid the Stress of Learning Code.  I really look forward to sharing this information with you.

If you have already installed WordPress, you can skip ahead to the third post in this series, 6 WordPress Plugins that are the Key to Your Blog’s Success.

Since I am using a new website, I will be going through the same process with you too. This will be a great refresher for me and will help me to help you get started.

Thanks for reading! I look forward to hearing back from all of you!
